Linda Jones has been employed at a large city police department for 8 years where she processes evidence in the Latent Print Processing Lab of the Crime Scene Unit
In her role as Fingerprint Examiner Ms. Jones examines a variety of evidence including weapons and firearms, bank demand notes, money, and threatening letters.
One of Ms. Jones' regular operations involves laser scanning a fingerprint and comparing it to a database of fingerprint features in an attempt to match the print to an identity on file utilizing the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). She also operates fingerprint scanning technology such as Touchprint for processing prisoners.
Ms. Jones was a guest speaker for the past year at David N. Myers University teaching Fingerprint Techniques and processing of evidence. She has also taught courses in the processing of evidence to high school and college interns in the Latent Print Processing Lab.
Ms. Jones is qualified in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Courts as an expert witness. She has informed numerous Grand Jury pools regarding AFIS and processing evidence for fingerprints.
